How minimum investments work

The minimum initial investment is the smallest amount a fund will accept for a new investor. Some funds also set a minimum subsequent investment for additional top-ups (typically lower than the initial). Direct-from-manager investors usually face the headline minimum; investors going through a platform like InvestNow or Sharesies may face a different (often lower) effective minimum because the platform aggregates many investors into a single account with the manager.
