Licensed managers of NZ managed funds

Every managed investment scheme has one manager licensed by the Financial Markets Authority under Part 6 of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. That entity holds the licence for the scheme. It is named on the cover of the scheme's Statement of Investment Policy and Objectives, and it is frequently not the brand on the fund —5 of the 26 firms below are the licensed manager for funds sold under more than one brand.

26 firms across 261 funds. Each figure below is a count of funds whose SIPO names that firm; every SIPO is linked on the firm's page.

Counts cover the 261 funds in our universe whose SIPO we hold. A fund with no ingested SIPO is not counted, so a firm's total here may understate the funds it manages. The licensed manager is one of four scheme parties — see also theauditor andsupervisordirectories. Being the licensed manager is a separate role from investment management, custody and supervision, which are often performed by other parties.
